← All Projects. Waxsmith.

Waxsmith is a new luxury candle and wax melt company based in the UK who asked me to create their brand identity, packaging and responsive ecommerce site.

Building the brand.

Waxsmith wanted their branding to reflect their use of premium ingredients and materials. We agreed on creating a minimalistic logo in a single colour, which would make it easily transferable across different mediums. I decided to use a simple serif font in the logo to convey a feeling of elegance and prestige, an approach often taken by premium brands.

I chose to complement the base colours of white, black and cream with a deep blue on the site due to the colour’s association with both sophistication and luxury and calm and tranquility.

Conveying the brand story & values.

The goal was to create an ecommerce site which would effectively communicate the brand story and their focus on creating natural, vegan and cruelty free products while allowing customers to purchase their range of products.

I aimed to work within the brand guidelines we had set out to create a clean design which would allow for Waxsmith’s products to be discovered and presented in logical way on a range of devices. To ensure I would achieve this, I drew up wireframes of each page for each device.

Creating a clean and responsive design.

After drawing up rough sketches for the layout of the site on mobile, tablet and desktop, I translated these drawings into simple wireframes using InVision, which I later used as a base to refer back to when constructing the design using Figma.
